Commissioned installation for Museum Skovgaard, for the group exhibition ‘Hot Hands’ 2024.
‘13 guests’ is an installation consisting of bronze, casted and painted porcelain, a painting staged as a table, candle casted sculptures all coming together as a huge surreal dinner table. The installation is made for The Skovgaard Museum in Viborg for the group exhibition ‘Hot Hands’ focusing on craft and the hands work in contemporary art.
Elements of ‘13 guests’ are inspired by The Skovgaard Museum collection of ceramics, Judy Chicargos ‘Dinner table’ and Meret Oppenheim's surreal teacups and squirrel beers. The work is about sculpture, surrealism, the urge to buy, hierarchies in material and art history since there are both fine art and craft techniques as well as industrial design techniques used in the work.
